Layla Gilbert, 8th grade English teacher, was part of a team of about 8 people who started making masks around 3 weeks ago. Since then, the group has made around 5,000 masks. The group also made semi-disposable masks.

Amy Davis, a mathematics teacher at West Lauderdale Middle School, recently received a $1,000 graduate scholarship from the Mississippi Professional Educators.

The Lauderdale County School District is partnering with the ⁦East Mississippi HUB for Volunteers and Nonprofits to provide free Grab & Go Meal deliveries to students who lack transportation.
